“Sutherland Estate has one of the most spectacular vineyard sites in Australia. On high ground at the southern edge of the Great Divide, the cathedral-ceilinged cellar door and large outside deck command impressive views down the Yarra Valley and far into the distance. Birdsong fills the air, and the highway seems far away. Cheese platters are available here to accompany the estate wines that are headed by a very good Chardonnay. The Spanish-origin Tempranillo planted here, a rarity in the district, shows great promise.”

Just imagine enjoying sparkling wine and canapés on the spacious timber deck, watching the glorious sun setting over the vineyards and distant mountain ranges!
Nestled into the side of Daniel’s Hill, the cellar door is an elegant, sun drenched room. We can comfortably accommodate up to 100 guests for a sit-down meal, or 160 for a cocktail style reception. Ordinarily, the minimum group booking for exclusive use of our premises is 50 adults. Alternative arrangements can be made for smaller groups.
An open fireplace brings a cosy, warm and romantic ambience for those cooler nights. A dance floor can be supplied free of charge inside the cellar door. On warmer, balmy summer’s evenings you can dance to your heart’s content, under the stars, with a band, on the spacious timber deck.
Ceremonies can be held on the deck, or on the lawns overlooking the vines, or inside the cellar door in front of the floor to ceiling windows with their incredible, panoramic views.
