Flowerdale Estate History
When the original homestead was built, it took almost 3 years. The King Parrot Creek runs through the Estate which prompted one of the first squatters in the area, Robert Farquhar McKenzie, to establish a 10,000 acre sheep run in 1838.
To help put this in perspective; Melbourne was first settled by John Batman in 1835!
The 2 room stone cottage still stands today and is a popular private dining room due to its character and ambience. The property was purchased by the ANZ Bank in 1989 from the Tehan family who had held it for more than 50 years.
The bank developed this magnificent homestead into an executive training facility and luxury retreat that stands today as one of Victoria’s finest business and training centres.
