Growing from seed to plate where possible, the extensive 17 acre property includes a fine dining restaurant, luxury accommodation, a natural spring, productive kitchen gardens, a smoke house and paddocks with a handful of farm animals. An 1893 country homestead, Coonara Springs celebrates its history as an iconic dining destination for almost 100 years.
Under new ownership, a three year intensive refurbishment program was desperately required to preserve the heritage and integrity of the property. Original features such as the old AGA cooker, open fireplaces and crystal chandeliers were all carefully restored. Gardens were brought back to life to uncover unique and rare varieties of plants, feature old established trees and restore pathways and stone walls.
The modern interiors are subtely blended with antique pieces exuding charm and elegance. Crisp white table cloths, leather banquet seating, bone handled knives, original antique furniture and old menu’s hanging on the walls.
The restaurant floor overlooks the gardens, opening onto a spacious deck overlooking the gardens with striking views across the Yarra Valley.
